A person who is an adult can be described as a person or animal who has reached complete growth.The biological definition of the word means the animal has reached sexual maturity, and therefore capable of reproduction. When used with humans, the word adult may mean something connected to social or legal notions. Contrary to those who are that isn't considered an adult, or "minor" legally adult has reached majority that makes them independent, capable, and responsible. Legal adults can also be called a major. The age for achieving legally adulthood is 18 although definition may vary by laws, countries as well as the stage of psychological development.

Adulthood refers to the period in the human lifespan when a person has reached full maturity both in physical and mental growth. Many people believe that the age of adulthood starts at 20 years or greater. Mid-life, beginning around 40 years old then follows by old age at about 60 years old. Adulthood is divided into three distinct stages The first is early adulthood (18-30 years) middle adulthood (30-60 year olds) and finally, late adulthood (60%-60 percent). The physical maturation process is complete by the time we reach the early years of adulthood (20-40s), although the weight and height may rise a bit. When we reach early adulthood, our physical abilities are at their peak. These include muscle strength and speed of reaction.
